Diane Arbus is one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century, an influential figure whose compellingly honest style of photography paved the way for the work of contemporary photographers and artists.
ARTIST ROOMS comprises of 69 black-and-white photographs from across Arbus鈥檚 career, both her earliest work in 35mm and her characteristic square-format images, and ranging from her best-known portraits to rarely-seen images.
ARTIST ROOMS was established through The d鈥橭ffay Donation in 2008, with the assistance of the National Heritage Memorial Fund, The Art Fund and the Scottish and British Governments. ARTIST ROOMS is being shared with galleries and museums throughout the UK thanks to the support of independent charity, The Art Fund and, within Scotland, The Scottish Government.
