Fragments
Fragments is an ambitious, interdisciplinary project with national reach, involving 10 artists and including a publication. It consists of five collaborative, artist-initiated sub-projects, each pairing contemporary visual artists with practitioners in other fields including theatre, music, literature and dance. Presented in separate venues, these collaborations will enable each participant to reach new audiences and develop their work in challenging new directions.
The project focuses on the dynamic of the one-to-one dialogue as a stimulus to creative risk and experimentation. Utilising a model which is integral to Five Years鈥 ethos, the participants are working with creative autonomy in relation to a common structure: each sub-project has been devised by an individual member of Five Years working in response to an initial brief.
Rochelle Fry in collaboration with the band Squares and Triangles
Edward Dorrian in collaboration with art history researcher Amy Todman
Marc Hulson in collaboration with novelist Paul Curran
Esther Planas in collaboration with Tuesday-029
Sally Morfill in collaboration with dancer Karen Wood
