HEAD FOR THE HILLS! includes many recent acquisitions and demonstrates the Hammer鈥檚 commitment to collecting diverse work by both local and international artists in a broad range of mediums. Borrowing its title from a 1974 work by the conceptual artist John Knight鈥攁 slideshow of newspaper headlines extracted from their original context in the Los Angeles Times鈥攖his exhibition highlights artworks that use the local, personal, and banal to tap into the universal.
