Jacob Hashimoto: Path to the Sky
Path to the Sky unfolds along the Corticella and the internal Road of the museum complex, spaces chosen for their strong symbolic and architectural significance. The work consists of more than 3000 suspended kites handcrafted with Japanese paper and bamboo structures, which trace a visual and conceptual itinerary between earth and sky.
Conceived as a tribute to the city of Siena, the installation reflects on the theme of the journey 鈥 physical, spiritual, and symbolic 鈥 and fits in continuity with the history of the place, once a welcoming point for pilgrims and today a space open to art and contemporary reflection.
The project, produced and organized by the Fondazione Antico Ospedale Santa Maria della Scala, was realized with the support of Immagine Studio and in collaboration with the Galleria Studio la Citt脿.
