Masterpieces from the Kunsthaus Z眉rich
Kunsthaus Z眉rich is one of the best art museums in Switzerland, and boasts the world-class collections of modern art. This exhibition marks the first large-scale introduction of its collection in Japan. 74 masterworks by extremely important artists in art history, from the impressionists of the 19th century to the surrealists of the 20th century, will be presented.
The most intriguing work in the show is six-meter-wide 鈥淭he Water Lily Pond in the Evening鈥 by Claude Monet, in which visitors may find the presage of the abstract expressionism which appeared decades later. Also on display will be a number of works by Marc Chagall, whose marvelous power of imagination and a remarkable sense of color continue to fascinate people around the world.
