Nolwenn Sala眉n: Leave The Door Ajar
Lascia la porta socchiusa / Leave the door ajar is the first solo exhibition in Italy by Nolwenn Sala眉n, curated by Marta Federici. The show presents a body of work developed since 2022, the year in which the artist left Amsterdam and relocated to the city of Turin, where she currently lives. Sala眉n's practice uses media such as photography, installation, writing, and performance to reflect on social dimensions, physical and linguistic states of dislocation, shifts in meaning; she investigates the imperceptible structures that organize spaces and times of everyday life, thus orienting the feeling and movement of bodies. In dialogue with Almanac's venue, Lascia la porta socchiusa / Leave the door ajar elaborates a device of subtle tensions and questions that do not call for answers, where each entrance presents itself as a possibility of reunion or perhaps a proposal for escape.
