Recent Acquisitions at the Athenaeum
Eloise Duff has been an active member of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library since the late 1970s. She also served as a docent at the San Diego Museum of Art for thirty years. Her professional life was in commercial art as a publisher鈥檚 art director in both New York and San Diego. She moved to La Jolla in 1960.
It took a request from her son to move Eloise to set about writing descriptions of the travels she and her husband Russell have taken over the last thirty years鈥nd then it became a big project! There had to be illustrations, of course. And because of a recent Athenaeum School of the Arts course on ink drawing Eloise soon had 145 drawings. A selection of these will be on view in the Athenaeum鈥檚 Rotunda Gallery.
