The Unbearable Lightness Of Being

Jun 11, 2024 - Jul 06, 2024

Milan Kundera was a Czech writer who explored through his writing the intricacies of life and thought with his particularly sensitive observations of people and ideas. 鈥淭he Unbearable Lightness of Being鈥 was published in 1984 with much of the plot set during the Communist occupation of Czechoslovakia and yet it was more about love than politics and more about philosophy than reality. The book has remained a favorite of many, perhaps particularly free-thinking artists. It seemed the perfect theme for this show happening during the 3rd or 4th spring of the pandemic when we are all so tired and drained by the last few years and the ongoing craziness of reality.
