Puerto Rico鈥檚 remarkable Museo de Arte de Ponce (MAP) has generated a large traveling exhibition, 鈥淭he Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce.鈥
The Museo de Arte de Ponce (MAP) in Puerto Rico, has partnered with the Meadows Museum at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, to organize a traveling exhibition that will debut in Texas in February.
The show of twenty paintings from the Museo de Arte de Ponce presents a novel self-perspective of the island, viscerally connecting it to the diaspora in Central Florida.
Titled 鈥淣ostalgia for My Island: Puerto Rican Painting from the Museo de Arte de Ponce, 1786- 1962,鈥 it is the first show from the Puerto Rican museum to travel outside of the island and many of its 21 works have never been seen in the United States.
