Geerten Verheus (b. 1965 Amsterdam, Netherlands) received a BA in Photography from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam, in 1993. He received his MA in Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Art & Design, London, in 1999. Verheus’ sculptural installations and collages mostly function not through any narrative content, but through rather intuitive associations to the unorthodox materials he uses and the interrelations he creates between them. Geerten Verheus lives and works in Berlin. Recent solo exhibitions include LOYAL JELLY, Schinkel Pavillion Berlin, 2010, Grosses Gegenteil, Kunstsaele Berlin, 2010, Curtain Fur House, Sox , Berlin (2009); The Limits of Almost , COMA Centre for Opinions in Music and Art, Berlin (2009); Two Suspensions, zwanzigquadratmeter, Berlin (2009); Geerten Verheus, COMA, Berlin (2007). Group exhibitions include Want - Arratia, Beer, Berlin (2009); The Pain Game, Nosbaum & Reding Art Contemporain, Luxembourg (2009); Zero, Aanant & Zoo, Berlin (2008); Self-Effaced, FA Projects, London (2007); Happiness, Gagosian Gallery Berlin, 4th Berlin Biennial (2006).
