(P)recollection
(P)recollection offers a mapping of collection practices pre-dating the opening of MAMA in 2015, curated by MAMA member and friend of the Museum, Sally Denshire. The exhibition considers collection building as part of the civic development of Albury from the 1940s, through to the establishment of Albury Regional Art Gallery and the ambitious and impactful commissioning and collection approaches of the 1980s and 90s, led by then Director, Audray Banfield. Denshire weaves narratives based in art historical, social and personal contexts, taking an embedded view of the growth of the city鈥檚 art collection.
