A Private View: Modern Masters from the Kerry Stokes Collection

22 Nov, 2013 - 03 Mar, 2014

This focused exhibition showcases works from the Kerry Stokes Collection, one of Australia’s most significant and respected private collections. The works on display are mostly by French artists and date from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a period of great change and experimentation in European art.

Highlights include two paintings by Monet, the best known of the French Impressionists, an exquisite painting of Notre- Dame by Matisse, an enigmatic work by the Surrealist Magritte, and works by Picasso. This is a rare opportunity for people in Perth to see a selection of artworks by some of the innovators of modern art, and which are not usually accessible to the public.
