Ay-O: Rainbow Landscape #2025
Since 2017, the park surrounding Kunsthal Aarhus has served as the venue for an annual outdoor exhibition featuring art flags: A Flag is a Piece of Fabric. The exhibition project continues in 2025, presenting three colourful flags by the Japanese artist Ay-O, a central figure in the experimental Fluxus movement. Ay-O has also been instrumental in bridging the gap between Western and non-Western art.
A Flag is a Piece of Fabric 鈥� Ay-O is realised in collaboration with Tiger Tanuki, an art consultancy firm led by art historian and curator Malene Wagner. For this exhibition, Kunsthal Aarhus will install two additional flagpoles, thereby significantly expanding the concept compared to previous years.
