BLOCK 10: Celebrating a Decade of the BLOCK Program
This exhibition marks 10 years of the Glassell School of Art鈥檚 BLOCK program, a unique one-to-two-year intensive that offers advanced Studio School students the opportunity to transition from the classroom into a rigorous, peer-driven studio community. Selected through a competitive application process, participants develop a sustainable studio practice through weekly seminars, readings, and critiques with visiting artists, curators, and writers.
Founded in 2014 by Patrick Palmer and led by Francesca Fuchs since 2019, BLOCK has supported more than 50 artists, many of whom continue to shape Houston鈥檚 vibrant arts landscape and beyond. BLOCK 10 brings together works by its alumni, celebrating the lasting influence the BLOCK community has on participants鈥 artistic development.
