Beatriz Milhazes: Avenida Paulista
Beatriz Milhazes (Rio de Janeiro, 1960) is a Brazilian artist recognized for her singular production of a complex repertoire of images, forms and colors associated to the baroque, to modernism and to Brazilian popular motifs, such as Carnival, as well as tropical flora and fauna. Her exhibition at MASP 鈥� held in the context of an entire year dedicated to Histories of Dance 鈥� will present a broad selection of paintings and collages produced from the 1990s onward, along with never-before-shown works made in partnership with choreographer Marcia Milhazes. Produced in partnership with Ita煤 Cultural and Instituto Bardi, the show will be held at three different venues 鈥� at MASP, at Casa de Vidro and at Ita煤 Cultural, where it will be curated by Ivo Mesquita. Like the other exhibitions, this one will be accompanied by an ample catalog with reproductions of the artworks shown and essays about the artist鈥檚 production.
