Claire Lieberman: solo exhibition

25 Mar, 2010 - 24 Apr, 2010
Claire Lieberman, in her video work, photography and sculptural installations, exploits such materials as Jell-O, alabaster, wax, glass, rubber and marble to create images that trigger a sense of dislocation. Juxtaposing solid and ephemeral materials with static and kinetic imagery, Lieberman creates a surprising reality where the solidity and rigidity of both image and material remain unresolved.

Claire Lieberman holds an MFA from Pratt Institute and an BFA from Tufts University (MA) in affiliation with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. Since 1996, she has been seen in solo exhibitions throughtout the U.S., and has completed public commissions in Providence, RI, Milwaukee, WI, and Salina, KS. She has been published in Sculpture Magazine, The New York Times and Art On Paper, among others, and been featured in numerous catalogues.
