Correspondences: Sandison and Monet

22 Feb, 2008 - 18 May, 2008
Born in Scotland in 1969, the artist Charles Sandison lives, works and teaches in Tampere in Finland. Passionate about the multiple theories in physics and biology, as well as in linguistics and medicine, Sandison is interested in the systems that these put in place, and in the power they exert. Moving away from pure concept, he uses computer programs and algorithms to create a new language, a reflection on areas of knowledge, which he projects into darkened spaces. Spectators are invited to immerse themselves in this remodelled architecture, to wander between words and signs, experiencing the sense and the sensuality of a poetic design. Sandison has chosen Claude Monet`s Blue Water Lilies attracted by the aquatic immersion of the picture.
