Drawing Together
The display, co-organised by The Courtauld Gallery and the University of Kent, aims to shed light on the creative power of drawing by staging a series of dialogues between works in the Courtauld collection. Looking beyond traditional questions of attribution and function, the display will focus on drawing as a creative act. It will present a series of sometimes unexpected encounters between pairs of drawings, ranging from a small sketch by George Romney to a gestural abstract work by Hans Hartung, taking in drawings by Antoine Watteau, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and Eugène Delacroix.
