Curated by RUBY founder, Megan Olivia Ebel, this exhibition redefines the boundaries between traditional and contemporary art forms, exploring the intricate nexus of dentistry and art through the dazzling world of dental decoration. Fine Tooth transforms Pablo Cardoza Gallery into an arena where ancient practices meet modern aesthetics in dental adornment. Visitors journey through dental history, from the use of precious metals in ancient dental practices to the stylish statements made by modern-day grills. The exhibition features an array of artistic expressions including sculptures that honor ancient traditions, photography that captures the vibrancy of grill culture, and unique jewelry pieces inspired by orthodontic appliances which highlight the transition of braces and aligners from functional devices to ornate artworks.
