From Impressionism to Early Modernism: French Masterpieces from the Robert Lehman Collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art
National Palace Museum collaborates with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, presented by Mediasphere, "From Impressionism to Early Modernism: French Masterpieces from the Robert Lehman Collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art鈥� at the Northern Branch of the National Palace Museum, specifically in Exhibition Hall II, marking the first major exhibition to be held following the hall's renovation and official reopening.
The exhibition has been meticulously curated by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It features a special selection of precious artworks donated to The Met by Mr. Robert Lehman and brought to Taiwan for display, displaying 81 masterpieces by 38 artists, including the leading artists of Impressionism Renoir, Post-Impressionist masters van Gogh and 颁茅锄补苍苍别, the color virtuoso Matisse, as well as renowned artists such as Seurat, Gauguin, and Pissarro, encompassing Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, and early Modernism, and spanning from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. Through five thematic sections: "The Body," "Portraits and Personalities," "In Nature," "From the City to the Country," and "By the Water,鈥� the exhibition leads the audience to explore the vibrant aspects of French paintings and drawings, offering a comprehensive view of nearly a century of Western art development.
