From Picasso to Warhol - Avant - Garde Artists' Jewellery

10 May, 2009 - 19 Jul, 2009
Alongside their large-scale, world-famous works, many renowned artists of the European avantgarde created minuscule works in relief and sculptures, jewellery and decorative miniatures. Karel Appel and Arman, Alexander Calder and Max Ernst, Pablo Picasso and Niki de Saint Phalle, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol, and, more recently, Heinz Mack, Günther Uecker, Louise Bourgeois and Anish Kapoor – have all designed jewellery. This exhibition will present roughly 140 works by 34 artists. The artists' small-scale works will be as far as possible juxtaposed with their larger works.
