In Outer Space: A Cultural Time Capsule
Galer铆a de la Raza is proud to present, In Outer Space: A Cultural Time Capsule, an exhibition that celebrates the cultural legacy witnessed at our historic 24th Street site. For 48 years, the site where we have since been displaced, was our 鈥淢other Board鈥� a place of infinite creativity where risk-taking cultural endeavors formed new frontiers and defined Xicanx/Latinx aesthetics locally, nationally, and abroad.
This time capsule is a tribute to those that have contributed their art and vision to the social movements of the Mission District and beyond. This is but a fragment of work that represents these contributions and is not a complete and comprehensive exhibition. There are many more who have dedicated their lives and work to the pursuit of justice through art within our community, and if we were to present an exhibition, City Hall would be covered in art.
