This exhibition of works by two friends revolves around the act of looking. Inspired by John Berger鈥檚 seminal book About Looking, Gall鈥檚 fluid watercolors and oil paintings depict figures looking at art. On view themselves and framed by the gallery context, her figures鈥� poses and postures suggest either distraction or interest. Madden on the other hand is a master bookbinder who 鈥渓ooks good鈥� at everything. Scanning his environment for materials, he finds beauty in what has been discarded or overlooked.
