Michael Vaughan鈥檚 work, though appearing on the surface to be essentially abstract, actually deals with the transposition onto canvas of everyday experience in the real world. His principal subjects are figures, landscapes and gardens, surprisingly figurative themes for so formal a painter, whose primary concerns seem to be line, texture, and increasingly, colour. 聽
This will be the artist's first show with
Connaught Brown, following his hugely successful first solo show at Jonathan Clark Gallery, London in 2015. 聽
The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue featuring an essay by reknowned critic and curator Andrew Lambirth.
