O枚 Air: The exhibition

27 Jun, 2024 - 29 Sep, 2024

The Artists and Scientists in Residence program of the O脰 Landes-Kultur GmbH, established in 2020, offers visual artists with a connection to Upper Austria the opportunity to take a break from everyday work for one to three months as part of a stay abroad.

Thrown back on oneself, new things can be discovered and experience can be gained through a change of perspective in order to orient and further develop artistic work internationally.

Conversely, it is also about opening the eyes of the local audience 鈥 to engage with art 鈥渁s a window to the world鈥 and to experience the results of the working stays in the O脰 AIR exhibition:

The Danube was explored culturally and ecologically on the MS Fusion, a converted ship by the architect and artist Rainer Prohaska. In the LIA artist residency, located in the Spinnerei Leipzig, structured work was carried out on the graphics focus offered. The stay in Havana, on the other hand, was more self-organized, but still supervised by Nelson Ramirez de Arellano Conde, director of the Contemporary Art Center Wifredo Lam.
