Sean Berry: to appear to disappear
In Sean Berry鈥檚 exhibition 鈥榯o appear to disappear鈥 he responds to three photo collections as a curation of obscure, damaged and discarded photographic ephemera. The work explores a graphic dialogue between the original photographic images, their copies and making multiples. His interest lies in the concept of obliteration of original identities, deterioration through the mechanical copy and the photograph as an independent object divorced from its referent over time. In this work, his intention is to highlight these forgotten moments by creating halftoned positive copies which are dramatically scaled up, further distorted screenprinted images.
