Second Life
Second Life is an exhibition of works drawn primarily from MACAAL’s permanent collection, in addition to loaned and newly commissioned pieces. The show highlights artists who have repurposed found materials into artworks, giving these cast-aside objects a second life, another reason to exist. The medium of works in the show range vastly, and include: coins, bamboo, plastic bottles, cans, barrels, tea, electric cables, light bulbs, recycled fabrics, cardboard, film rolls, and emergency blankets. The sheer creativity of these artists surrounding the spectator in an immersive experience highlights a mindful and humanistic approach to social responsibility.
