99 Loop is delighted to present 'See Green' this September. Featuring the work of nine artists, this group show focuses on the colour green as its unifying curatorial element. Highlighting the transition from winter to spring, this show uses the colour as a means to explore themes of nature and renewal. As green bridges the cool blues of winter and the warm yellows of summer, so too does it represent seasonal shifts and changing states of mind.
This group show opens itself up to different interpretations of the verdant shade, offering the 鈥榠n-between鈥� nature of this secondary colour and the transition between seasons as a broader conceptual focus. This thematic murkiness allows artists to present their work from unique and differing perspectives - using liminal spaces such as changing landscapes or emotional states, with green serving as the cohesive element throughout the show. Participating artists include: Akshar Maganbeharie, Chuma Adam, Gabrielle Raaff, Heidi Fourie, Michael Beckurts, Tamsyn Lancaster, Tinashe MK, Ulriche Jantjes and Zarah Cassim.
