Someone 1917
The year 1917 is one of the most important in Russia鈥檚 history. The concept of this project implies a new interpretation of this theme, within the framework of which works of art will show the thoughts and sentiments that artists were having in that period.
The exhibition will feature works of myth-makers who were singing the peasantry as the embodiment of the national ideal and Utopists and proponents of abstract art who proclaimed the creative transformation of the world.
The project encompasses 120 paintings and sculptures from the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, museums of Pskov, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Rostov, Belarus, private and foreign collections (Centre Georges Pompidou (France), Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza (Spain), the Tate Gallery (the UK), Stedelijk Museum (the Netherlands), the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Greece), Tel Aviv Museum of Art (Israel).
