Spectrum
Arch Enemy Arts presents "Spectrum", a group show featuring new work from twenty-three artists, all tied together by one common theme鈥攕pectral color.
It's no secret that 2020 has been a roller-coaster of emotions for people all over the world, and so we figured it could be a welcome and refreshing visual to curate a show that focused on highly saturated and colorful works to shine a light and distract from these dark and uneasy times. Also taking into consideration the fact that there was a chance this exhibition wouldn't be able to be viewed in person (surprise, it is!), we started thinking of ways virtual exhibitions were presented and what we could do to create a visually pleasing online show. Eventually we arrived at the idea of creating an actual spectrum of colors, and how we could arrange them to flow seamlessly with no common theme other than the progression and graduation of color from one to the next. To make this happen for "SPECTRUM" each invited artist was asked to select a color with which they would create a near-monochromatic work of art. Once received, the pieces were then arranged physically to create the Spectrum. Not only is each piece a stand-out/stand-alone work in its own right, but the exhibition as a whole is an absolute beauty to behold. If you're local to or in town visiting Philadelphia we encourage you to stop by to see the show for yourself.
