Survey. Supported by Jerwood Arts

06 Jul, 2019 - 29 Sep, 2019

A major new survey exhibition presenting new works by 15 early-career artists from across the UK. Survey is the largest review of contemporary art practice in Jerwood Visual Art’s 12 years of programming, spanning a breadth of disciplines.

Marking a departure from Jerwood Charitable Foundation’s 17 years of support of the Jerwood Drawing Prize, and coinciding with Frieze London 2018, Survey takes a non-institutional approach to selection with 35 mid-career artists – including Ryan Gander, Andy Holden and Rachel Maclean – nominating the most promising new UK artists working today.

Artists have been selected from nominations made by over 50 established artists, between them covering each UK region, to seek the most outstanding and dynamic early-career artists making work currently, who are within five years of establishing their practice. The selection has been made by Sarah Williams, Head of Programme, Jerwood Visual Arts.

Newly established for 2018, Survey builds on Jerwood Charitable Foundation’s specialist knowledge and experience of working with early-career artists acquired through its running of the Jerwood Visual Arts programme.
