The Faculty Emeriti Arts Exhibition

The School of Arts and Communication at Bucks County Community College (BCCC) is pleased to announce the opening of a special exhibition celebrating the artistic contributions of its faculty emeriti members. The exhibition will be held at the Hicks Art Center located at 275 Swamp Road in Newtown PA from August 27 to October 25, 2025. The legacy of arts faculty who established the outstanding reputation of the Bucks County Community College School of Arts and Communication beginning in 1964 through the present will be seen, heard and on full view throughout Hicks Art Center in the upcoming The Faculty Emeriti Arts Exhibition. Some recent and historic works have never been exhibited in public prior to this prodigious exhibition. Featured Emeriti include Jon Alley, Selma Bortner, Steve Bresnan, Karl Carter, Robert Dodge, Frank Dominguez, Edward Ferdinand, Caren Friedman, Alan Goldstein, Emmet Gowin, Susan Hagen, David Hunter, Catherine Jansen, Bruce Katsiff, Paul F. Keene Jr., Gwendolyn Kerber, Stephen S. Levine, Emily Brett Lukens, John Mathews, Roberta Mayer, Marlene E. Miller, Fran Orlando, Charlotte Schatz, Sandra Scicchitani, Milton Sigel, Mark Sfirri, and Dan Wilkinson. This exhibition is dedicated to Marlene E. Miller who passed away on July 30, 2025. Miller taught at Bucks from 1966 – 1998 inspiring generations of students and artists. The public is invited to attend an opening reception on August 28th from 4 – 7 in Hicks Art Center, Room H100. The event will allow attendees to meet some of the artists and discuss their creative journeys prior, during and after their teaching careers at Bucks and elsewhere. The talented Bucks Music faculty will provide lively music. Presented by BCCC’s School of Arts and Communication, The Faculty Emeriti Arts Exhibition highlights the teaching coterie of artists, historians and musicians who have profoundly impacted modern and contemporary cultural locally and around the world.
