Zero Loop
Lin & Lin Gallery is pleased to present the curated exhibition Zero Loop. The exhibition includes works by five leading contemporary Chinese artists Chen Chieh-Jen, Kuo Wei-Kuo, Lai Chiu-Chen, Liu Shih-Tung, and Zhao Zhao. With this exhibition, the work of its participating artist, and relative perspectives that the two present, the gallery seeks to explore how art interacts with the artist and situations external to the work to construct networks of references, and create dialogue in a two-fold looping relationship based on the artists and the exhibition venue.
Zero as a concept in physics, exists on a linear continuum, and carries the meaning of 鈥渋nitial condition.鈥 A loop is a series of connected nodes that provides a path for something to move along.
If zero is the position of an artist, then the loop is the pathway connecting the different works of this artist. The zero loop is created by taking the artist as zero and is centered on his aesthetics and beliefs. The various artworks become the nodes in the circuit, and the spiritual core of the work starts from zero and returns to the original point, which is the artist. The artworks are continuously recalibrated as the loop operates, and through each cycle, the structure of the artist's spiritual loop is strengthened. In other words, the unique aesthetic narrative of this artist is further clarified.
In this exhibition project, the different loops that arise from two definitions of zero provide viewers with different ways of seeing. One is based on the individual spirit of the artist; and the other on group connection. Starting from zero to create loops, Zero Loop not only presents visual aesthetics, but also constructs a conceptual dialogue.
