Jer奴iyq is a promised land from Kazakh legend, passed down to the present through generations of oral tradition, serving as a metaphor for searching, exploration, improvement, and invisible knowledge.
The first biennale of its kind in Kazakhstan set out to combine sound art with a decolonial paradigm or, as curator Anvar Musrepov put it, 鈥渢o find a correlation between experimental sound and the local culture, which is more audial than visual.鈥
