In the halls of Palazzo Reale a unique exhibition on the great Aragonese painter, forerunner and inspiration of the major artists and movements of the last two centuries.
An 'exciting exhibition involving 62 bodies providing 15 different countries, including private and international museums.
Over 180 works, including paintings, etchings and drawings, reconstruct the relationship between Goya and other celebrated artists that have marked the location of the art of the last two centuries: from Delacroix to Klee, Kokoschka to David, from Victor Hugo to Miro, to be Klinger, Picasso, Nolde to Bacon, from Kirchner to Pollock, from Guttuso to de Kooning.
The influence of Goya's art and contemporary culture is in fact confirmed by the traditional historiography that defines the work of the artist as a reference point for the movement style that helped define the art of the nineteenth and twentieth century: impressionism, symbolism, expressionism, surrealism. The presence of irrationality, the importance of the body, the terror, the constancy of fear are just some of the aspects of the new company on whose paintings, drawings and etchings of Goya cast a bright light and recognizable. Not a few artists who, directly or otherwise, have transformed the painting by Goya in a conceptual and aesthetic point of making their stories and wrap-around brush.
