‘New Habitats’ – Kasia Breska
‘New Habitats’ shows a series of works exploring and responding to a space. Kasia Breska focuses her work on the exploration of natural/organic spaces connected to body and movement as well as inner/objectless space connected with mind. Each space present itself as an environment with a different set of dynamics and equilibriums, where the most balanced ones are able to create a sense of home. She sees her works themselves as new spaces or new habitats with their very own dynamics and possibility to affect us.
For the artist, each of those small habitats creates additional space with a hope or aim that they will produce a sense of belonging.
The exhibition at The Brunswick has a very special character as the 2nd floor used to be the artist’s studio space. This connection creates additional meaning, making the space a native environment for the artist and her works.
The show will consist of a series of drawings and collages, mural and an installation.
