Sandy Ma: Touching Wires
Our interactions with the computing world have long been characterised by rigid materials 鈥� minerals and rocks encased within metal and geologics. Touching Wires invites softness into our technological relationships, drawing attention to the humanity that shapes human-computer interactions. This exhibition centres around an installation work by ACT-based artist Sandy Ma, created during her journey to articulate what collaboration and co-creation means when artificial intelligence is involved.
As artificial intelligence continues to infiltrate the art world, artists must be given the agency to understand and participate in the conversations of defining technology's role in art. Touching Wires calls audiences to consider their interactions and relationships with artificial intelligence in a safe and intimate space.
Touching Wires is a 4A LAB Emerging Artist initiative, supported by the City of Sydney Innovations and Ideas grant; a site-specific activation of the 4A LAB, which prioritises research and artworks that are grounded in experimentation, technology and change.
