What Do I Hear?
鈥淲e are connected with the world through our senses. The senses are not merely passive receptors of stimuli, and the body is not only a point of viewing the world from a central perspective. An exhibition of prototype tools for the translation of sound to vibrotactile experiences. The prototypes are the outcome of an international collaboration of artists, designers and engineers. By means of artistic research and experimentation they explore how technology could shift people鈥檚 perception of accessibility and inclusivity for sensory disabled people.
Specifically, What Do I Hear? aims to create possibilities for the Deaf/deaf and hard-of- hearing to experience the sound in works of art 鈥� sound art, music pieces, film and so on. During the exhibition at Bradwolff Projects the prototypes will be installed and tested together for the first time in the context of an art gallery space.
