Located in Aspen, Colorado, the Aspen Art Museum is a globally preeminent non-collecting institution that presents the newest, most important evolutions in international contemporary art. The AAM鈥檚 innovative and timely exhibitions, education and public programs, immersive activities, and community happenings actively engage audiences inthought-provoking experiences of art, culture, and society.

Founded in 1979, the museum has been at the center of Aspen鈥檚 renowned cultural community.聽 In that time, the AAM has featured the work of such leading聽 artists as Vito Acconci, Amy Adler, Doug Aitken, Louise Bourgeois, Thomas Demand,聽 Olafur Eliason, Simon Evans, Christian Jankowski, Robert Mangold, Laura Owens, Pedro Reyes, Ed Ruscha, Gregor Schneider, Javier T茅llez, James Turrell, Richard Tuttle, and others, many while they were in the early stages of their careers.

Through free public lectures and guided tours of museum exhibitions, private collection tours, international members鈥� art trips, and art outreach programs in regional schools, the museum provides a wide variety of contemporary art-based programming.
